How to Speed Up Any Video or Podcast (Up to 3×)
Speeding a video up usually pitches the audio up with it, until everyone sounds cartoonish by 2×. Capo holds the pitch steady while it raises the speed, so you can push a talk to 2.5× or 3× and still understand every word at a comfortable, natural tone.
Faster playback, normal-sounding voices
The reason fast playback normally sounds bad is that most players couple pitch to speed. Capo decouples them with a time-stretch engine, so a lecture at 2.5× is just the lecturer speaking briskly — no helium, no strain. You finish in 40% of the time without losing a word.
Your speed, saved per site
Set a pace once and Capo remembers it for that URL. Your course platform opens at 1.75×, your podcast at 1.5×, your news clips at full tilt — no resetting the slider every time. If a section goes by too fast, you can slow it back down for a moment, then pick the pace back up.
Beyond the built-in controls
Many players cap out at 2× or hide their speed control entirely. Capo adds a consistent speed slider to almost any site with audio or video — including course platforms and embedded players that never had one — so the same shortcut works everywhere you watch and listen.
How to speed up a video
- Add Capo to Chrome or Firefox.
- Open it on the tab you're watching or listening to.
- Push the speed slider up to 1.5×, 2×, 3× — whatever you can comfortably follow.
- Capo saves the pace for that site automatically.
